Floyd Joseph Kruse, Jr., age 72 years, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 6,
2023, at his residence in Rockdale. Floyd was born on the 4th of July in 1950 at John’s
Community Hospital, in Taylor, to parents, Floyd Joseph Kruse, Sr. and Lillie Ana Johanna
(Synatzske) Kruse.
Floyd worked for the City of Thorndale until his retirement in 2017. His passions included gardening, participating in BBQ competitions, spending time with his family and friends, and most of all, watching football. This especially goes for his favorite team, the TCU Horned Frogs. He cherished his time with friends and family and was always happy when they came to visit. He loved to play dominoes, cut wood for his BBQ cook-off friends, and share vegetables from his garden. He loved his neighbors as family and was known by them as the Sheriff of G Hill.
Floyd is survived by his children Kristie Jones, and husband, Willie of Taylor; Lisa Lindley, and husband, Eric of Aledo; Crystal Kruse, of Waco; and Bobby Ray Kruse, of Taylor. Among his surviving family are grandchildren Johnathan Kruse, Bailee and Lily Lindley, and Adam Kruse, as well as, sister, Jeanette Kuempel of Austin; brother, Jimmie Ray Kruse, of Taylor; nephew, Donnie Kuempel, and wife, Michelle, of Pflugerville; and niece, Diane Heselmeyer, and husband, Jeff, of Taylor.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lillie Kruse, and his brother-in-law,
Donald Kuempel.
Floyd will be missed incredibly by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in Floyd’s honor at the SPJST Lodge 29 at 5025 FM 619 in
Taylor on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
