On 17 June 2020, the Angels came and carried their precious servant Fay Hessenius away. Fay was a native daughter of Texas.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Bill, her loving mother Cleo, fathers John and Henry, Cleo’s twin sister Leo and her dear twin sister May. The twins are now fully united in heaven.
She was a military spouse for twenty-four years volunteering her time at the medical clinic at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, Florida, and as a Cub Scout Leader. She would volunteer at Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, during the height of the Viet Nam war. For twenty years, she served the Austin community while employed with the United Way. Fay was the epitome of “Obaltio Vitae” or the offer of life. She cared for those in need with a gentle touch or word of grace.
She is survived by her sons Brett and Bill Jr., her daughters in law Pattie and Tabatha, granddaughter Faith, and grandsons David, Trevor, Kirkland, and Coy. Her great-grandchildren David Jr., Matthew, and Kaylie. Her sister Kathy and nephews Travis and Ryan of McDade.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, June 22, 2020, McDade Cemetery, McDade, TX
