Esther "Peewee" Alderete Lopez, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2021.
Esther was born in Taylor, Texas on September 11, 1944, to Lucas Alderete and Memencina Delgado Alderete.
Esther enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing, and beating everyone in Loteria. She was famous for her homemade tortillas and amazing tamales that everyone would always ask her to make for Christmas. Her door was always open she never turned a person away in a time of need. She had a heart of gold and a beautiful smile.
She is survived by her children, Diane Navarrete, Pamela (Alfredo) Velasco, Silvia (Michael) Bennett, Petra Vasquez, Cececilo Martinez, Albert Vasquez, and Gilbert Vasquez. Esther is also survived by her 15 grandkids, 33 great grandkids and 2 great-great grandkids. Whom she loved very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, one grandson, and one great grandson.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 4th, 2021, at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM at Jerusalem Pentecostal Church in Taylor, Texas. Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Martin Navarrete, John Martinez, Paul Dominguez, Albert Vasquez, III, Lucas Orosco, Adam Lucio, William Pachicano, and Anthony Alderete.
