Eric Vega

Eric Vega was born on August 14, 2000, in Austin, Tx and passed away unexpectedly at the age of 23 on August 26, 2023, in Elgin, Tx. He was involved in a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler on his way home Saturday afternoon and passed away from injuries sustained.

He is survived by his mother Rosa Maria Vega Hernandez, his father Gildardo Vega Flores, and his brothers Gilbert and Richard Vega.

Eric enjoyed taking his companion, Stormie, out on walks at Zilker Park and would dedicate the whole day to her. He always looked to make memories with his friends and family, and do things out of the pure kindness of his heart. He was a man of principles; he was loving, considerate, respectful and extremely spontaneous. Anyone who got to know him knows that family meant everything to him. If you became friends with Eric then, there is a high chance that he considered you as family. Eric was the type of person who would attend any and every special event to show his support. As well as help however he could with anything that was asked of him. His presence will be terribly missed by loved ones as there will always be an unfixed void with him being gone. However, we know he will continue to live on in our memories and in all of our hearts.

A visitation will be held 3:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 31, 2023, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Celebration of Mass Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2023, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Elgin Latin Cemetery
