Emmitt Ray Walker

Emmitte Ray Walker, age 85 of Austin, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018

Emmitte was born July 03, 1932 to Millard Austin (Buck) Sr. and Sarah Pauline Walker in Bastrop County. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1950. After Serving in the United States Army, Emmitte became an instructor at Nixon/Clay Business College.  Emmitte worked for the State Controller’s office for over 20 years. He was a member of the McDade Baptist Church. Emmitte was a car enthusiast, he refurbished a Model T Car. In his spare time he enjoyed having coffee with his buddies, and traveling to research genealogy. He was also a part of the Texas Baptist Men Builders.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Millard “Bo” Jr.

Emmitte is survived by two brothers Bobby Walker and wife Helen, and Paul Wayne Walker and sister-in law-Sherry Walker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 4, 2018 McDade Baptist Church with a Celebration of Emmitte’s Life beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow in the McDade Cemetery.
