Edna Dove

On August 27, 2017 Sister Edna Lou Dove heard the voice of Jesus and left her earthly Tabernacle for her heavenly home.

Edna Lou (Hemphill) Dove the daughter of the late Jessie Hemphill and Hattie Mae Green was born January 17, 1935 in Rosebud Texas (Falls County).  Her parents, Husband, Deacon Amiel Dove, two daughters, sisters: Maggie Wingwood, Vince Ella Jackson, Brothers: Horace Green, William Greed and Sinester Hemphill preceded her in death.

She attended Kimbro public School in Kimbro Texas.

In May 1952 she married the love of her life Amiel Dove and they were blessed with eight beautiful children. Lee, Geno, Lee Morris, Shirley (deceased) Edna Mae (deceased), Novella, Ruby and Debra.

Together they raised their children for 62 years until his death in 2014.

Edna accepted Christ early in life and later united with the Pleasant Bethany Baptist Church. Blessed with the ability to serve others was rewarding for her. She was active in her church, serving as Deaconess, Secretary of Mission II, attended Wednesday night and Sunday morning bible study and delivering meals in the community.

She continued her education by obtaining her CNA license and worked at Holy Cross Hospital for many years, twelve years for AISD, and nine years for Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation, after retirement she became a full time housewife.

By any standard, Edna had a successful life, but it was because of who she was and not what she did. She was a sweet, kind, fun loving person not only to her family but to everyone. Your children were her children, never putting young people down but always available to give wise council.

Edna leaves to cherish her memories, Sons: Lee (Joyce) Baker, Geno (Tina) Dove, Lee Morris (Vickie) Dove. Daughters: Novella Dove, Ruby Dove, Debra Dove, and Gloria (Samuel) Owens

Missing Edna will be her 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 6 great- great grandchildren. Sister: Jessie Mae Blain, Brothers: David L. Green, Barry Hemphill. Sister in- Law: Mildred Dove, Rosie L. Dove and

Etta Faye Ivey. Brother in- Law: Roy Lee Dove, Claude (Leora) Dove and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
