Edith Virginia Cox Wilkins, 87, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born on December 10, 1933 in Mason, Texas.
Virginia was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband, Johnny Wilkins Jr, parents, Linzy Hershal and Edith Nollie Jones Cox, sister, Ruth LaVerne Heffington, brothers, Gene Marshall and Linzy H. Cox Jr., and granddaughter, Laramie Renee Cribbs.
Virginia is survived by sons, Johnny Wilkins, III and wife, Laura of Blue, TX, Tommy Ray Wilkins and wife, Linda of Elgin, TX, daughter, Nancy Kay Wilkins and Damon McVay of Elgin, TX, grandchildren, Garrett Wilkins, Amanda Wilkins Webb (Andrew), Dr. Kaitlyn Wilkins Behrend, DVM (Cameron), Alyssa Wilkins, and Adelyn Hibbs Cribbs (Anthony), great-grandchildren, Waylon, Kix, Kylie, Konnor, Brooks, and Hazel Rae, and sister, Novella Heffington and brother Ronnie Cox.
Virginia loved animals, for years she raised and showed Champion Pekingese Dogs and later had the Dry Creek Miniature Horse Farm. Virginia was well known in the area for selling real estate as the owner/broker of Lundgren Realty in Elgin, Texas.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, May 1st 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas. Graveside Services will be conducted on Sunday, May 2nd 2:00 p.m. at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, Texas with Pastor Carl Roth of Grace Lutheran Church of Elgin, Texas officiating.
The family would like to thank the Caregivers at University Village Memory Care and Assisted Living and Valerian Hospice for their loving care of Virginia during her stay there.
