Dwight Tucker, age 78 of Elgin, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 9, 2019 with his family by his side. Dwight was born in Andice, Texas to Hugh and Vivian Tucker, where he helped run his family farm. Dwight served in the Army National Guard, then went to work at the Austin Coca-Cola Company where he retired after more than 30 years. Dwight was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and a heart of gold and spent a lot of his time helping others.
Dwight was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Tucker, mother Vivian Tucker, sister’s Lucy Dill, Norma Lockhart, brother’s Hugh Tucker, and Donald Tucker.
He is survived by his wife Diann Gilpin Tucker, who spent many years spending time and taking care of him, his son Dwight Tucker Jr., daughter Dianna Perkins and husband Gene, granddaughter’s Chelsea Perkins and Shelly Tucker and grandson’s Justin Dwight Tucker and Jesse Perkins and wife Ashley and four great grandchildren. Dwight is also survived by many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
Dwight will be missed so very much, being that he was a fun, loving person and a joy to be around, and who had too many friends to count.
Dwight will be laid to rest in Andice, Texas and a Celebration of Dwight’s Life is currently being organized.
