Delphine Ging

Delphine Ging was born August 19, 1934 in Coupland, Texas to Fritz and Elsie Wernli and married Calvin J. Ging on April 26, 1953.

Delphine graduated from Thrall High School and was employed at Texas City Bank. She was also an employee of Coupland State Bank for 10 years. Delphine was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Peters Church of Coupland. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies aid and taught Sunday School. Her joys included the 42 Domino Club, gardening, cooking, studying cookbooks and servicing her church. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren and loved every minute she spent with them.

Delphine is preceded in death by her parents, brother’s Ruben and Buddy Wernli.

She is survived by her husband Calvin of 66 years, daughter Jan Hagan and husband Bill of Scroggins, Texas, son Scott Ging and wife JoAnn of Coupland, grandchildren; Jonathan Hagan and wife Molly, Lindsay Hagan, Samantha Valchar and husband Matt, Clayton Ging and wife Amber and Caleb Ging,  great-grandchildren; Johannah and Lee Valchar, Hank and Max Hagan, Charley, Trinity, and Cheyenne Ging. She is also Survived by her brother Don Wernli and wife Sandra of Coupland.

A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2020 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Delphine’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 4, 2019 St. Peter’s Church of Coupland. Interment to follow at the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Coupland.
