Delia P. Arizpe

Delia P. Arizpe passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 29, 2024, in Elgin, Texas. She was born on July 7, 1946, in El Paso, Texas to Ernesto Alfonso Prieto and Victoria Gurany Prieto.

Delia worked most of her life in the customer service industry. She later started her own business selling fine jewelry. Her love of God and of serving others led her to teaching catechism, preparing young people for Confirmation, and serving as a Eucharistic minister. Delia firmly believed in the power of prayer and leaned on her faith daily. Among other countless activities in the church, she also served the community by being a member of the Civitan Club which is an organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our Lord has now taken Delia home to join her parents Ernesto and Victoria Prieto, her husband Lazaro Arizpe, and her son Royce B. Day Jr. She is survived by her daughter Alma Rosa Pizarro-Gould; grandchildren Enrique Alonso Delgadillo (Jessica), Dulce Esperanza Bebee, Ava Victoria Bebee; great grandchildren Jayleene Alexis Espino, Olivia Marie Delgadillo, Dominic Isaiah Delgadillo; siblings Ernie Hashim Gurany (Lila), Maria Victoria Arizpe, Roberto Prieto (Yolanda), and Laura A. Reyes (Ernest); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Delia was the heart of her home and family. She loved them all dearly and always went above and beyond for each one of them. She will be greatly missed by all.

A visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2024, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Manor.
