Mrs. Delfina Ramirez Hernandez, age 83, of Elgin, Texas, passed away in peace on Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2020.
She was born on December 24, 1936, a daughter of the late Eufracio and Victoria Ramirez
Delfina was preceded in death by the love of her life, her late husband Rudolph Hernandez.
She was survived by two daughters: Karla and her husband Felipe Cardiel, and Finnie and her husband Juan Cardenas. She had 6 grandchildren: Kevin, Blanca, Reymundo and his wife Nancy, Alexis, and Rudy, and 4 great grandchildren: Ayden, Adrian, Andres and Reyes. She also leaves behind one brother, several nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members and friends who will miss her greatly.
Delfina was known for the love and care she gave to her family. She was a “spit fire” as they liked to call her. She was fun to be around and had a unique sense of humor. She was also strong willed, stubborn, self-assured, and ALWAYS RIGHT! She was classy, elegant, loving and empathetic. She prayed for anyone and everyone, people of all paths of life. She genuinely believed that everyone needed prayer. Delfina was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her frosted highlighted hair was always kept up (thank you Moonsie), she couldn’t go without her red lipstick, big earrings, and sunglasses. She loved staying busy, shopping and cleaning were her favorite hobbies. Delfina had a special way of getting everyone together. All she had to do was get in the kitchen and make one of her home cooked meals and whip up a batch of her fresh homemade flour tortillas. Everyone came running when she would let it be known that the food was ready. Delfina was a very special lady who touched many hearts, she will be missed tremendously.
Delfina’s daughters would like to give a special thank you to her nephew Perk Hernandez and his family. Delfina spent many days and nights in their home, they cared for her and loved her very much. She was their “aunt Del”.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2020 from 10:00am to 8:00pm. A private church service will be held on Monday, followed by interment services at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
