Debra Ann Bernal

Debra Ann Bernal (Tamez), age 52, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in Elgin, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Fabiola Bernal. She is survived by her father, Adolph Tamez; loving husband, Silvestre Bernal; her children, Monica Torrejon, Irene Bernal, Annabel Bernal, Rebeka Bernal, Thomas Bernal, and Daniel Bernal; and her grandchildren, Zebastian, Romeo, Isaias, Missael, Jaylah, Gustavo, Zantiago, Marleny, and Orlando.

Debra was born in Taylor, Texas. Debra was loved at her current employer. Everyone one there saw how determined she was to move up and work. She always talked about her job and was proud of where she worked at. Mom was a hard strong woman. She had a green thumb to plant. A plant could be dead and she could revive it. She was always doing something; she couldn’t be still. She listened to loud music while cleaning. Planting was a hobby she enjoyed. She loved playing with her grandchildren, baking, and cooking. She made the best flour tortillas. She lived and worked for her children her whole life to support us and move up in life. Sometimes we didn’t know how she got the motivation to support us and keep going no matter how hard or difficult the situation was. We were a huge family. Sometimes she worked two jobs to support us. Mom knew a little about everything; if she didn’t she would learn it fast. She would show the world that she could and she did. She was married 34 years to her beloved husband whom will miss her dearly. Mom would do anything for the ones she loved.

She will be remembered dearly in our hearts as a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother. Now we have two angels looking down on us, our beloved sister, Faby, and our mother. Save us a spot until we reunite again. Not a day will go by that we won’t think of the ones we lost and miss. This isn’t a goodbye, if not an I’ll see you on the other side. Keep protecting us and watching over us.
