David Gene Lemley

David Gene Lemley, age 64, passed away at his home in McDade, TX.

He was born March 23, 1953 in Sweetwater, Texas to G.B Lemley Jr. and Etta Louise (Cook) Lemley. David became a licensed preacher to God’s ministry when he surrendered his life to the Lord in 1972. Though David never pastored a church he believed his calling was to become a lay minister to God’s will by his uplifting spirit and his tremendous faith in the Lord. David attended East Texas Baptist University where he met and married his soulmate, Kathy Jo (Kennimer) Lemely, on December 31, 1973. David and Kathy had 43 years together in their walk with God as a couple. David impacted everybody he came in contact with to know his Lord by his life on earth.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and one sister Gladys Louise (Lemley) Broadus.

David is survived by his wife Kathy, his son David J. Lemley and wife Candice of McDade, TX., daughter Misty A. Buck and husband Lyn Buck of Brazoria TX., his sister Gerri Caffrey of Greenville, TX., his brother Ken Lemely and wife Andrea DeHaven of Caldwell, TX. He is also survived by seven Grandchildren, as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Friends.

A Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of David’s life will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 10, 2017 Ridgeway Baptist Church in Paige TX. Interment to follow at the McDade Cemetery.
