Clarence Oliver Helgren 92 of Elgin went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 30, 2017.
He was born to Paul and Agda Helgren Sept. 5, 1925 in Travis County, TX.
Clarence proudly served in WWII as PFC in 511 th Parachute Infantry and PFC in Company B 504 th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Inducted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and honorably discharged in 1947.
In 1948 he met and married Wilma Ruthven, his wife of 69 years. They had two sons, Kenneth and Rodney.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, son Kenneth, grandson Joshua, brother Oscar Helgren, sisters Pauline Madson, Marjorie Prinz, Mildred McCellan, MayDell Prinz, and Ruby Prinz.
Clarence is survived by his wife Wilma, son Rodney and wife Carol. Grandchildren Leah Pace and husband Matt, Sarah Timming and husband Justin, Jacob Helgren, Tracy Annis and wife Cathy Naiser and Ryan Helgren and wife Hope. Fourteen Great-Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Helgren, Justin Timming, TJ Stiewert, Matt Pace, Matt Helgren, and Conrad Pace

A Celebration of Clarence’s Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 5, 2017 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Elgin Cemetery.
