Chloe Leeann Mendez

December 6, 1988 — February 29, 2024

Chloe LeeAnn Mendez, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, niece, and friend, earned her angel wings on February 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 35 years old.

Chloe was born on December 6, 1988, in Austin, Texas, and grew up in the close-knit community of Elgin. She attended Elgin High School and graduated in 2007. Throughout her life, Chloe faced the challenges of illness with unwavering strength and a positive outlook. Despite her own struggles, she dedicated herself to her son Jordan, radiating love and inspiring those around her with her unwavering positivity.

Chloe found joy in her work at Pizza Hut and HEB, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and kind heart. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her favorite Lifetime movies and indulging in the culinary adventures of "Man vs Food." Chloe had an affinity for Oldies music, which always brought a smile to her face and joy to her soul. Her laughter was contagious, and her jokes brought lightness and joy to any gathering. Before Chloe’s illness had progressed, she cooked spaghetti, homemade beans, and some good chicken fajitas all of Jordan favorite meals.

Chloe was baptized as a catholic, attended CCD at Sacred Heart of Elgin. Attending Mass was a big part of Chloe’s life as was her Faith in the Lord. In her younger days Chloe served as an Alter Server. When Chloe could no longer physically attend Mass, The Holy Communion was brought to our home, and she was always ready for the staff of Sacred Heart.

Chloe was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ralph Sr., Juanita Hernandez, paternal grandmother Maria Hernandez, Aunt Debbie Mendez Harden, and Manuel Martinez. She is survived by her beloved son, Jordan, who was the light of her life and purpose. Chloe also leaves behind her parents, Gloria, Israel Paez, and Eloy Mendez Jr., as well as her brothers, Phil, and Jose. Nieces Ava Rose, Jenesis, Aubree and Jazarae LeeAnn, nephews Ethan aka (brother) Blake and Dax Carter aka (El Guerito). Chloe will be deeply missed by her aunts, uncles and extended family and a host of friends whose lives she touched with her vibrant spirit and infectious smile.

A visitation to honor and remember Chloe will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home on Monday, March 4, 2024. A Holy Rosary recitation will take place at 7:00 PM. A celebration of Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 25, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin, where Chloe's life will be celebrated and her spirit honored. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Elgin Latin Cemetery.

Chloe’s vibrant spirit, love, laughter, priceless smile and (((hugs))) will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The memories we made will forever be cherished.
