Chester Levern Jensen, age 89, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018. Chester
was born September 4, 1929 to Ralph and Helen Jensen. He was a long time member of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church of Elgin. Most of his adult life he worked as a mechanic both
of automobiles and heavy equipment, with over twelve years for the Texas State Highway Department. For 20 years he was a machinist supervisor for Carr Lane Manufacturing. Chester loved people and was always ready to share a good story and a laugh with them.

Chester was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 59 years, Minnie Irene Jensen in 2009, and one son, Larry Wayne Jensen also in 2009. He is survived by sons, Eldon Jensen and wife Ellen, Lester Jensen and wife Grace, daughter, Edith Jensen Priest and husband Larry, one brother, Vernon Jensen, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 15, 2018 with visitation from 5:00 – 7:00pm, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin. Services will be held 11:00 am Sunday, September 16, 2018 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with internment following at Pelee Cemetery.
