Charles Calvin Henry, age 75, of Elgin, Texas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
Charlie, as he was known to friends and family, was born December 14, 1942 in Lampasas, Texas to William “Chester” Henry and “Fannie” Belle (Jennings) Henry.
Over the fifty years he spent as a master barber, he met and served many interesting personalities, including Jack Brown of Jack Brown Cleaners as well as a former FBI Director. Most of those he served were not just clients, but also became good friends.
Charlie was a compassionate and loving soul who helped people in need whenever he could. His compassion was not only for people. His two dogs, Chance and Willow, were rescued from the roadside and given a safe and loving forever home. His strong work ethic spilled over into his private life, and he was conscientious about every task- trivial or great.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings; Gary of Alto, New Mexico, Norman of California, and Vonda Lynn of Elgin.
Surviving family members include his wife, Helen, daughter Tammy Henry Kanetzky, son-in-law Lonnie Kanetzky, grandson Mason Kanetzky, daughter Heather McLain and husband Brian, son Mitchell Gregory and granddaughters, Kendall McLain, Sheridan McLain and Allison Gregory, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Charlie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed.
