Mack Edwards was born 8/28/1940 in Knox City, Texas, and died 1/23/2018 in Austin, Texas at age 77.  His parents were Frances “Dickie” Edwards and Lester “Red” Edwards;  his dad was a coach and they were both teachers. Mack was the third of four kids.

Mack was married twice. With his first wife he gained 3 children; Erich Dieter Groebe, by adoption, and Chase Edwards and Shawn Edwards. He then married the love of his life, Marsha Edwards. They have been married 20 years.

Mack’s professional life spanned many decades and identities. He graduated from UT and then worked in the oil fields. After, he worked for the Department of Aging, then for Family Elder Care; and lastly, he worked for the IRS.

Only a few months ago Mack was diagnosed with cancer, and it turned out to be a furious opponent. He passed at home with his wife, brother and loving friends at his side.  He is survived by his three children; Erich, Chase and Shawn; his three siblings, Bob, Jim and Jan, loving nieces and nephews, his grandchildren Allie, Nikolas, Jessica, Kai and Amber; and his loving wife Marsha.  We will miss him.

The burial will be at Elgin Cemetery, 901 W. 2nd Street, Elgin, Texas at 2 pm Sunday, Jan. 28, and a Memorial after at Providence-Jones Funeral Home, 604 N. Hwy 95, Elgin Texas.
