Carlos Navarro Bowie

Carlos Navarro Bowie, best known as "Dad," "Popo," or "Brother" was born to Joe and Alice Bowie on November 30, 1944, in Donna, Tx. On November 21, 1965, Carlos married the love of his life, Mary, with whom he spent 58 wonderful years. Mary and Carlos enjoyed their life "going riding,” trips to Coushatta, cheating while playing spades or dominos, and lots of back yard barbecues. Carlos was an extremely hard worker, serving in the National Guard from 1964-1969. He would tell stories of his days in the National Guard or childhood memories. If you had the privilege of hearing one of his stories it most likely involved the adventures of him and Noe getting themselves into all kinds of trouble. Popo would always say “It wasn't my fault, it was Noe.” He would then laugh, wipe his tears, and say "Gaalee!" He was also a dedicated commercial tire salesman for over 45 years. When he wasn't selling tires, he dedicated his time to his beautiful family.
Carlos and Mary had 3 beautiful daughters Laura, Betty, and Deborah. He was kept busy by his 12 grandkids and 22 great grandkids, all of which filled his life with so much joy!
Carlos was called to his eternal home with Christ on July 26, 2023, at his home in Pflugerville, TX. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Laura, as she lost her battle to cancer in September of 1998.
Carlos impacted many lives and left a positive presence with anyone he met. His genuine soul will be dearly missed and never forgotten. This isn't good-bye but farewell for now.

A Visitation for Carlos Bowie will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 4 PM - 7 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
