Bridget Kaylyn Thomas

February 12, 1991 — October 26, 2024

Bridget Kaylyn Thomas, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2024, at the age of 33, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 12, 1991, in John Day, Oregon, Bridget was raised in Texas, spending her early years in Elgin and most recently making her home in Bastrop.

Bridget was the precious daughter of Pamelia Thomas and her stepfather, Greg Hale, and a loving sister to Josh Mollett. She found a soulmate in her husband, Roger Walker Harner, and together they built a life centered on family. She was a devoted mother to Abby Thomas and Peyton Thomas and a caring stepmother to Wyatt, Austin, and Maverick Harner, each of whom was her pride and joy. Fiercely committed to her family, Bridget poured her heart into raising her children, making sure they always came first.

From a young age, Bridget’s grit and determination were evident. She graduated early from Elgin High School while pregnant with her daughter Abby, displaying a resilience that would characterize her entire life. She pursued her passion for helping others as a certified Medical Assistant in Dermatology, later earning her NASM Certification in Personal Training. After having her son, Peyton, Bridget fell in love with fitness, finding fulfillment in helping others reach their health and wellness goals. She became a valued leader in the YMCA of Austin, serving as a fitness coordinator, personal trainer, and eventually the Health and Wellness Director. In recent years, Bridget transitioned to Meritage Homes, where her talents and leadership shone as she quickly rose to become the Customer Care Manager for the Greater Austin area.

Bridget was a member of Foundation Christian Ministries in Bastrop, where her faith and love for Christ anchored her life. Beyond her career, Bridget was an accomplished athlete and a steadfast friend to many. She played softball, volleyball, and basketball (though she wasn’t tall, but she made up for it by being scrappy). A dedicated mother, she loved watching Abby play volleyball, camping with her family, and spending time by the water on beach vacations. Bridget was also remarkably handy, known for her ability to fix just about anything, and loved moments spent “jumping on the roof” with her dad, Greg. She also loved relaxing with her loving and loyal dogs, Gabbie, Gracie, Penny, and Murphie.

Known for her strength, grit, and unwavering commitment to those she loved, Bridget had an unshakable faith that inspired everyone around her. Her friends, many of whom she had known since grade school, describe her as fiercely loyal, loving, and determined—a “bulldog” when it came to pursuing her goals. She was a planner who saw things through with faith, purpose, and heart. Bridget’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family and friends will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her.

Bridget is survived by her husband, Roger; her children, Abby and Peyton; her stepchildren, Wyatt, Austin, and Maverick; her mother, Pamelia, and stepfather, Greg; her brother, Josh; her uncles, Bill and Alan Thomas; and countless friends. She is reunited in peace with her friend Leah Pace, Aunt Bonnie Thomas and her Uncle Jim Thomas, whom she lovingly called “Unc.”

A celebration of Bridget’s life will be held in her honor at 3pm on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at the Foundation Christian Ministries church in Bastrop, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to their GoFundMe, which will help support Bridget’s children and family during this difficult transition. Donations can be made at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/donate-to-help-a-young-mother-survive-cancer

Bridget’s life was a reflection of God’s love, her strength and kindness grounded in her faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, as we hold onto the hope of reuniting in God’s eternal presence.
