Bessie Dean Teague, age 80, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on May 24, 2021.
Bessie was born in Austin, Texas on October 30, 1940, to Albert Moreland and Madora Vasterling. She graduated from Austin High in 1959. Bessie married Paul Leon Teague on July 1, 1967.
She retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 2000. Bessie loved to do hand embroidery and made several pillowcases for family members. She was well known for her chocolate chips cookies; they were requested for every gathering.
Bessie is survived by her husband, Paul Leon Teague, her daughters, Beth Pińa and Betty Davidson, her grandchildren, Christopher Pińa, Jr., Amber Cortes, Cody Jakobeit, Jessica Pińa, John Davidson, and Andrew Davidson, six great grandchildren, her sisters, Dorthy Pittman, Alberta Meredith, twin sister, Betty King, Pearl Boyer, and Marion Briones, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Madora Moreland, brothers, Thomas Moreland and Wesley Moreland, sister, Mamie Boyer, sons-in-law, Chris Pińa and Brent Jakobeit.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM at Providence- Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Youngs Prairie Cemetery in Elgin.
