On September 26, 2021, Antonio (Tony) Torres Jr. was called to his eternal rest by our Heavenly Father and is now home with his beloved wife, Victoria Torres.
Tony was born on December 21, 1941, in Edinburg, Texas.
He was a wonderful husband who walked every step of his life following a code of honor and integrity but above all - loyalty to his family. The devotion to his wife, especially during her decreased mobility, was a testament to his deep love and commitment to her - and the loving fulfilment of his marriage vows taken on April 30, 1959.
After marrying his wife, they moved to the eastside of Austin, Texas and began a family before ultimately settling down in Montopolis USA. Tony dedicated his life to his faith, family, friends, and community. He enjoyed big family gatherings and had a love for music, dancing, cooking, and gardening. His generosity, humor, and hospitable nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Tony's career ran the gamut from working at Carusso's Seafood, Halloway Co., Rivercity Wire, Rope, and Sling, National Car-Rental, Lamme's Candy, Texas DPS, and Leif Johnson Ford among others.
Tony was lovingly referred to as “Popo” by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, of whom he had the upmost adoration and pride for.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, and only brother Eddie Torres. Also preceding him was his wife of 60 years, Victoria.
He is survived by his children, Delores (Bobby), Diana, David, and Daniel (Melissa); his grandchildren, Joey (Sophia), Erica, Lizie (Joe), Jessica, Ruben (Stacy), Matthew (Val), Zeke (Clarissa), Nana (Joe), and Andrew (Mona); and his great grandchildren, Anissa (Michael), Trey, Amelia, Catie, Annabelle, Isabella, Olivia, Corina, Mason, Ian, Elbert, Aubree, Miguel, Jasmine, Romeo, Penelope, and Anthony.
The family would like to express our gratitude to the team of healthcare professionals from Home Care Dimensions and Wellmed Bridges who helped Tony over the course of his recent recovery.
