Anthony "Tony" Joseph Messbarger

May 2, 1960 — October 17, 2022

Anthony “Tony” Messbarger, 62, of Elgin, died on October 17, 2022.  He was born in Denver, Colorado on May 02, 1960, the second son of Jack and Donna Messbarger.

After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he held a series of positions in the technology field, before finding his true passion working with those who truly needed him. His life revolved around helping people find sobriety. He was well regarded in the industry as a top-interventionalist and was known across the country for his unrelenting passion of championing drug addiction awareness and intervention.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish Tony’s memory are his stepmother, Diane Messbarger, his brothers, Vincent and Damien and his sister, Jacque (Waymon) Rogers, his two stepbrothers, Jeff and Jeremy Heath, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many friends and colleagues.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Mustang Plumbing Event Barn in Round Rock, Texas. A private graveside service will be held later at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery.

The family suggests that friends who wish to make a memorial contribution in memory of Tony can send a donation to Benchmark Recovery Center, 11503 Parsons Road, Manor, TX 78653 or your local recovery center of choice.
