Anthony Wayne Cox, age 58 of Elgin passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

Anthony was born August 3, 1965, in Middletown, Ohio, to Douglas and Patricia Cox.

Anthony was blessed with a large and loving family.  He was married for 27 years to his wife, Ronda Cox.  He had a long-lasting career of over 35 years in the fire protection industry.  He was a man of immense humor and wisdom.  As the family handy man, you could always rely on him for help.  He was passionate about spending time with his family and enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, and riding motorcycles.   In his last years, he could be found joyfully picking on the guitar, often with family.

Anthony was preceded in death by daughter Chee’re Cox and father Douglas Cox.  He is survived by his loving wife, Ronda Cox, his children Tamara Word and spouse Jackson, Kaylie Smith and spouse Theron, Brenton Reittinger and spouse Jeanine, and Blake Cox.  As well as his mother, Patricia Evans, brothers Douglas Cox, Weldon Cox and spouse Alicia, and David Lee Evans and spouse Willie.  He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, Avery, Madison, Eli, Ila Rose, Bryan, Hendrix, Josephine, Tori Jean, and baby Ella due in September.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m.
