Alfred Reid Lawrence

Alfred Reid Lawrence, 87, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018. He was born on December 16, 1930 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Alfred and Flora (Reid) Lawrence, who preceded him in death.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to enjoy a long career as an Engineer in the Tire Industry. After he retired, he dedicated himself to building churches throughout the United States with The Texas Baptist Church Builders where he became good friends with many of the builders and their families. Al never met a stranger and would always enjoy a conversation with anyone he came in contact with during his life journey. He will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by those he touched, but never forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Thelma McLain Lawrence; their daughter Jennifer Andritsos and her husband George Andritsos; son Samuel Reid Lawrence; and his grandchildren (his pride and joy), Sophia Anastasia Andritsos and Zoe Alexandra Andritsos.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Knobbs Springs Baptist Church in McDade, Texas with burial to follow at McDade Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to the McDade Food Bank,.
