Alberto Tovar, age 88, of Elgin, Texas passed away Monday, July 6, 2020.

Alberto was born In Robstown, Texas on April 8, 1932 to Genaro and Jesusa Tovar. He retired as a laborer from local brickyards. Alberto enjoyed spending time with his family, tending to horses, playing pool and dancing.

He is preceded in death his parents, wife Maria De La Luz Tovar, his brothers Adolfo, Sabino, Jose, Genaro Jr. Tovar, and sister Trinidad Tovar-Navejas.

Alberto is survived by his children Yolanda Turrubiarte and husband Joel, Maria Elena Turrubiarte and husband Luis, Janie Giles and husband Wade, Arthur Tovar and wife Lucy, Aurora Guerra and husband Victor, Alberto Jr. Tovar and wife Mary, David Tovar, Grasiela and Balente Gonzales and Albert Cano Tovar and wife Jessica. He is also survived by his siblings Francisca, Lupe, Olga, Sara, Juana, Luis, Jose, and Genaro. As well as Thirty Grandchildren, Fifty-six Great Grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren.

A drive thru viewing  will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 9, 2020 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Private Celebration of Alberto's Life will be held 10:00 A.M. July 10, 2020 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
