Albert Gonzales

Albert Gonzales, 74, of Austin, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2022. He was born to Angel Villardo and Adelia Cruz Gonzales on August 31, 1947, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1968. After high school he married Gloria in 1971. His starting career began in selling insurance, then on to being self employed by owning a convenience store and later retired as a Human Resource Recruiter at Progressive Insurance. Albert had a passion for being a local political activist for the Democrat Party and an advocate for open government and transparency. Offices he held at the local level were President of Southwest Austin Democrats and Southwest Precinct Chair 358.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Gonzales, daughter, Monique Gonzales, son and daughter-in-law, Albert Jr. and Amy Gonzales, daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Ernest Fuhrmann, grandsons, Camden Gonzales, Baylor Gonzales, granddaughters, Sienna Fuhrmann, Aspen Fuhrmann, and his beloved pet dog, Hippy.

A viewing will be held on April 21, 2022, from 12PM-8:00PM, with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin, Texas 78621. On April 22, 2022, a final viewing will be held at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11:30AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 W 11th St., Elgin, Texas 78621. Following will be the burial service at Elgin Latin Cemetery, 305 Ochoa St., Elgin, Texas 78621.
