Adam Pena, Jr.

November 11, 1942 — December 7, 2020

Adam Pena Jr., affectionally known as “Guero” age 78, father, grandfather and dear friend to many passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020 at his home.  Guero was born in Elgin, Texas to Adan Pena and Susie Mendez Pena on November 11, 1942, where he lived until his death.  He married the love of his life, Sarah Gonzales Pena, who preceded him in death in 2009.

Guero retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2002.  Guero had an extreme passion for mechanical work and music, he enjoyed doing mechanic work and helping friends tinker with their vehicles while listening to music.  Guero enjoyed playing the accordion one of the many traits he inherited from his Father.  He adored his loving children, and his greatest joy was the love for his grandchildren, Justin, Cameron, and Gracie Pena, Kolby Hernandez, David Pena and his bonus grandchildren Alyssa Jilpas and Hunter Danz, and two favorite little people Camila and Carlos Monreal.  Guero was a devoted Catholic, a faithful friend, but most of all, a loving father and grandfather that would attend birthday celebrations, Holiday’s and sport competitions as often as possible and believed his grandchildren were his greatest accomplishments.

Those left to mourn him are his loving children, Gary (Deb), Adam III (Cathy), Rhonda, and Nicole (Chad), his grandchildren, brother Rene (Loudres) Pena, sister in laws, Lupe Santos (David), Dora Morua, his dear nieces and nephews, his loving cousins as well as many friends.  His parents, wife, brother Raul Peña and sister Stella Gonzalez preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Providence Jones Family Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.  A celebration Mass will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin, Texas a Christian Burial will follow immediately at the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
