Betty Grimm

Betty Grimm, 79 of Taylor, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Taylor, Texas.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6PM to 8PM at Elgin Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life services will be 10 AM, Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Elgin Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Mielke officiating.  Burial will follow at Giddings City Cemetery.

Betty Grimm was born August 3, 1930 to the late John Thomas and Myrtle (Rutherford) Greenhaw in Lee County, Texas.  She grew up in the Giddings area.  Betty married Adolph Grimm in January 7, 1949 in Giddings.  In 1950, they moved to the McDade/Elgin area.

Betty was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Elgin.  She enjoyed baking for her family and friends.  Her best years of her life were raising her children.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Adolph on July 7, 1984 and by several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children; Danny Grimm and wife Cindy of Austin, Darrell Grimm of Pflugerville, Margaret Tucker and husband Bill of Kerrville, Jane Marshall and husband Douglas of Georgetown, Allan Grimm and wife Sandy of Liberty Hill, Brian Grimm and wife Valisa of Fredericksburg, two sisters; Dorothy Murphy and Jackie Smith, two brothers; Durward and Bob Greenhaw, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
