Linda Kaye Coombs

Linda Kaye Coombs, aged 67, died peacefully with her family by her side on February 24th at Saint David’s Hospital in Austin Texas, after a brief struggle with cancer. Linda was born February 13, 1950 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Patricia and Jesse McDaniels.

Linda thoroughly enjoyed her family, friends and her garden. She graduated from Pryor High School and later attended Northeastern State University in Oklahoma as an English Major. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pryor Oklahoma being honored with perfect attendance for 17 years. In addition to having lived in Oklahoma, she lived for several years in Yelm Washington at the base of Mt. Rainier. She and her family later moved to Elgin Texas so she could live in a place where she could grow a garden year round. She had lived in Elgin for the past 23 years. Linda worked at the families engineering firm as a secretary and office manager for more than 20 years while homeschooling three of her youngest children, running the household and raising her numerous plants and animals.

Linda is survived by her daughter Joniel Crim and husband Liston of Taylor Texas, son Will Alsbrook of Elgin Texas, daughter Jessica Ford and husband Paul of Round Rock Texas,  son Bobby Coombs of Austin Texas and daughter Katy Coombs of Elgin Texas. She is also survived by her granddaughters Jamie Early, Caitlyn Crim and Gracie Skrhak as well as her grandson Matthew Alsbrook and a number of close friends.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM, First United Methodist Church of Elgin with Reverend Samuel Blanco officiating.
