Louis Selvera

September 5, 1943 — February 20, 2017

On February 20, 2017 Louis Selvera went to be with his heavenly father. Louis was predeceased by his father Noberto Selvera, his mother Esther Selvera, brother John Selvera, and sister Belma Selvera. Louis was born in Coupland to Noberto and Esther and grew up in Elgin, Texas.

After graduating from high school, Louis enlisted in the Navy and served his country honorably. After leaving the Navy, Louis settled in Southern California where he met the love of his life, Betty Knull.  Louis and Betty were married in 1965 and had twin sons Timothy and Michael one year later.

Louis was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed traveling with Betty across Europe. Louis and Betty also enjoyed going on cruises together and spending time together on the golf course. He also enjoyed for the past 7 years his annual golf trip with his brothers, brother-in-law and friends in Utah.

Louis began his career with Standard Oil for seven years before he bought his own company, Cabazon Disposal.  Louis spent the rest of his career as a small business owner and mentor to his many employees.

Louis is survived by his wife Betty Selvera of Yucaipa, California, sons Timothy Blair Selvera of San Francisco, California, and Michael Louis Selvera of Guerville, California, mother-in-law Pearlene Knull of Yucaipa, California, sister-in-law Beverly and Denny Bowman of Palm Springs, California, siblings Mary Selvera Pina of Elgin, Texas, Reynaldo Selvera of Austin, Texas, Alfred Selvera of Cedar Park, Texas, Gilbert and Sharon Selvera of Beaverton, Oregon, Danny and Maria Selvera of Elgin, Texas, Rick and Lisa Selvera of Lockhart, Texas, Elizabeth and Eddie Ramirez of Elgin, Texas.  Louis is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Reynaldo Selvera, Alfred Selvera, Gilbert Selvera, Danny Selvera, Rick Selvera, and Eddie Ramirez.

A visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM. Celebration of Mass Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 24, 2017, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
