Frances Hilliard Reaves age 80, of Elgin, went to be with the Lord February 16, 2017.
She was born to Ray and Dona Hilliard in Bell County on August 4, 1936 and was raised on a farm in the area. Frances graduated from Killeen High School in 1955 and married Weldon Scott Reaves on December 31, 1959. They moved from Killeen to Granite Shoals in 1976 and purchased lake front property on Lake LBJ so they could enjoy their favorite past time of fishing. Frances worked as a hair stylist most of her life. After the death of her husband, Scott, in 1994 moved to Elgin to be near her daughter and family. Soon after she took on a new career as a Certified Nurses Aid until her retirement. She enjoyed caring for her elderly patients. She had a lot of hobbies throughout the years they included sewing, crafting and painting. But she especially enjoyed painting, even through her final years. Frances would paint pictures and give them to volunteers, staff members and other residents in the Elgin Nursing and Rehab Center.
Frances is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, and sisters; Verba Lucille Klueh and Leta Mae Marshall.
She is survived by daughter Dona Reaves Lambacher and husband Thomas. Granddaughter Laci Lambacher and Grandson Jhase Lambacher.
The Family of Frances Reaves would especially like to thank all the staff of Resolutions Hospice and Elgin Nursing and Rehab for their kind help and specialize hand of care.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 18, 2017 Elgin Cemetery.
