Paula Avalos Reyna

Paula Avalos Reyna, age 72, of Elgin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 with her family by her side.

Paula was born to Jose and Simona (Hernandez) Avalos on April 13, 1944. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and doing word search books. Paula loved taking care of people, and had a special pumpkin filled with treats to give away. She was an active member of the Elgin Church of Christ. Paula loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything and was very active in their lives.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband James E. Lundgren and grandson JD Reyna.

Paula is survived by her four children; Joe Dale Reyna and wife Marina, Linda Garcia and husband Raymond, Tomasa Farmer, and Ernestine Garza and husband Ysidro. Eleven Grandchildren and Seven Great-Grandchildren. As well as her sisters; Frances Quiniones, Petra Vasquez, Sophia Avalos, Louisa Cordova, and Rosa Alvarez, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A special thank you to her doctors Balijepalli Netaji, Dr. Matthew Anderson and Dr. Carl Nuesch and staff at St. David’s North Hospital.

Special Thanks to her Sister Sophia Avalos and Nephew Charlie Navejas and wife, Niece Irene Sanchez for all their help with mom.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 9, 2017 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Paula’s Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 10, 2017 Elgin Church of Christ. She will laid to rest in the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
