Trinidad “Welita” Pena of Elgin, Texas was peacefully called home on February 4, 2017 at the fulfilled age of 101 surrounded by family and friends and gospel hymns.
Welita was a devoted Christian women born in Elgin, Texas on October 18, 1915, where she met her loving husband Samuel Pena and they raised their two children. She enjoyed eating sweets “which would explain her sweet heart and soul”, spending time with loved ones, and praying for those in need. She was a true inspiration and example to those who loved her and will be forever Thankful.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Samuel Pena, Son-In-Law Gavino Morris Sr., Granddaughter Debbie Moya and Grandson Thomas Morris.
Welita is survived by her daughter Guadalupe P. Morris of Austin, Texas, Son Joe Pena and wife Maria Luisa Pena of Elgin, Texas, Five Grandchildren, Nineteen Great-Grandchildren, Eighteen Great-Great Grandchildren, and five Great Great-Great Grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Welita’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 9, 2017. She will be laid to rest in the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
