Leslie Lee Pearce age 92, of Manor passed away Friday, January 6, 2017, at his home.
Leslie was born October 13, 1924 to John and Ida (Goericke) Pearce in Austin, Texas. He served in the United States Army during World War II receiving a Bronze Star. Leslie worked as a Police officer for the City of Austin for 30 years retiring with the rank of Sargent. After retirement he moved to Manor to live on the Family Farm in Manor. Leslie was a very active member of New Sweden Lutheran Church, where he served with a group of men called the “Wise Men of New Sweden”. He loved fishing, playing 42, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen (Anderson) Pearce, son John Pearce and wife Gayla, daughters; Sharon Boecker and Helen Santos and husband David. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2017, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Leslie’s Life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 10 th , New Sweden Lutheran Church, Manor. He will be laid to rest with Honors in the New Sweden Church Cemetery.
