Georgia Lynn Henwood

Georgia Lynn Henwood age 58, of Elgin passed away Sunday January 1, 2017.

Georgia was born April 4, 1958 to Kenneth and Mary (Sain) Curry in Killeen, Texas. She worked for the State of Texas for 20 years, including 10 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety and was a member of the Elgin Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and Step-Father, Gene Owen.

Georiga is survived by her husband James Doyle Henwood of Elgin; mother Mary Owen of Temple, TX; son Jake Henwood of Elgin, TX; step-daughter Jeanna Swena of Chehalis, WA; step-sons Zachary Henwood  , Adam Henwood, and step-daughter Shana Henwood all of Austin, TX; sisters Connie Higginbotham and husband Don, Dixie Frazier and husband Bruce of Belton, TX, Kathy Lemmons and husband Bernie, Mary Lee Farrell and husband Ronnie; brother Buck Curry and wife Robin all of Temple, TX; 6 Grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, January 4, 2017, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Georgia’s Life will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 5, 2017, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel.  She will be laid to rest in the Burns Cemetery, Lee County, Texas.
