Billy “Wayne” Elliott died peacefully at his home on August 27th, 2016 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Ellen, son Bruce (Tammie) Elliott of Elgin, daughter Sandy (Shane) Harris of Elgin, granddaughter Jennifer (Chris) Faulkner of Cypress, grandson Cade (Kat) Harris of Austin, grandson Cory Harris of Elgin, brother Harold (Gaye) Elliott of Temple, and four great grandchildren many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was born on October 11, 1934 in Moody, TX to Milton V “Dutch” and Thelma Elliott. He graduated from Moody High School and then moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas. He met and married Mary Ellen Tippie while working together at Tags diner. He spent most of his career at Henna Chevrolet and was a lifelong entrepreneur. He and Mary Ellen owned and operated Harold’s Place in Austin, Somburger in Austin, Rent-A-Car in San Marcos and Temple, Windsor Park Trailer Rental in Austin and Universal Auto Title in Austin, TX.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday August 30, 2016 from 6-8pm at Providence Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, TX. A graveside service will be at Cook Walden Cemetery in Pflugerville at 10:00 am on August 31st, 2016. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wayne’s life.
