Larry Dean Mcgary

Larry Mc Gary, age 67 of Lexington, Texas passed peacefully into the arms of Christ on July 17, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born January 11, 1949 in Austin, Texas. Larry married Cheryl Robbins on August 19, 2000 at River Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father R. V. Mc Gary.

Larry was in the concrete pumping service industry throughout his life. He was well known and respected by his peers throughout the country. Larry was a man of high integrity and true to his word. He was a loyal and dedicated Husband, Father, and Grandfather. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington. He was a faithful Sunday school teacher for years and traveled to countries building churches; spreading the word of Jesus Christ. Larry enjoyed snow skiing and dirt bike riding; he was an excellent marksman. He served his Country proudly in the National Guard.

Larry is survived by his wife Cheryl Mc Gary; mom Lillie Mc Gary sister Patsy and husband Sonny Taylor; Children Justin and Erin Mc Gary, Brandon Mc Gary, Holly and Chad Wallingsford, Cullun and Tasha Robbins, and Clayton and Danielle Robbins; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jaidyn Mc Gary, Brooke and Kenley Wallingsford, Randi, Rian, and Rilynn Robbins, Ashley Archer, and Blake and Addison Robbins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Veronica Lane for the care she showed to Larry in his final weeks. Thank you also to the compassionate nurses at Kindred Hospice. Most importantly the family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Beth Hellerstedt and her nurse Lauren Groff, the late Dr. Charles Conrad, Dr. Courtney Sheinben, and staff of Texas Oncology for their endless caring an support for the health of Larry McGary.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, Elgin, TX. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016, First Baptist Church, 801 Pecan Street, Pflugerville, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, 17701 Cameron Rd, Pflugerville, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lexington, 529 Burns St., Lexington, TX 78947, or the American Cancer Society.
