There was a huge family/friend reunion when Maxine Ruthven, 92, peacefully stepped from this life into eternal life with Jesus on July 13, 2016.
Maxine was born November 4, 1924 in Pleasant Grove, Texas to Ernest and Lorena Lanmon.
September 19, 1942 she married the love of her life Melvin Ruthven. Together they live in the Adina and Blue area, and raised 6 children, Bobby, Jack, Jerry, Lanny, Stanley and Connie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, sons Bobby and Stanley, 2 granddaughters, Lanna Jo Ruthven and Paula Ruthven, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Maxine was a wonderful, loving mother, mother-in-law, “Nanny” and friend. She always had a smile for everyone. She loved to be outside working in her beautiful yard, taking pictures, bowling, dancing, jig saw puzzles, playing dominoes, and attending Adina Christian Church and Bible studies.
She is survived by children – Jack and Trink, Jerry and Gini, Lanny and Linda, and Connie and Danny Wilhite. Grandchildren include, Teresa, Scott, Bradley, Jeff, Ronnie, Julie, Russell, Thomas, Cody, Yhana, Shawndee, Georgette, Casey, Ryan, and Clint, Brent and Amy Wilhite. Thirty six great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, Brother and Sister in law, Clarence and Wilma Helgren, and Ella Mae Ruthven.
The family would like to thank the staff of Regency Nursing home in Elgin, and Lost Pine Nursing home in Bastrop for the kindness extended to Maxine while she was a resident and to the many friends who learned to love her like family.
A viewing will be held 12:00-7:00 PM Friday, July 15th, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Maxine's Life will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 16th, Adina Christian Church. Interment to follow in the Adina Cemetery.
