Georgie Juan Schiller Pyeatt, 75, of Elgin died Thursday, July 7, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Georgie was born October 25, 1940 in Dallas to George and Lois Machalicek Schiller. She moved to Temple in 1946, attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, and graduated from Temple High School in 1958. She married Dale Martin Pyeatt of Temple in 1960 and after spending over 55 years together, he followed her in death less than four days later. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin. She served as the membership and travel director for the National Guard Association of Texas during her husband Dale’s tenure at NGAT, travelled to over 40 countries with her husband, family, and friends, and had a passion for her Czech heritage.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois and George Schiller; step-mother, Millie Marchak Schiller; an infant daughter, Carrie Ann Pyeatt; step-brother, Edward Marchak; and daughter-in-law, Ivannia Pyeatt.
Survivors include four sons, James Pyeatt and wife Kim of Cypress, David Pyeatt of Elgin, Mark Pyeatt and wife Anna of Cypress, and Daniel Pyeatt and wife Amy of Lucas; sisters, Lanette Ranly and husband Ronnie of Westphalia, and Joan Schiller Shelton of Temple; step-sister, Lanell Lesikar and husband Daniel of Zabcikville; and five grandchildren, Matthew and wife Emily, Luke, Katherine, Nicole, and William, who knew her affectionately as Jojo.
A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, July 18th, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 19th, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Private Graveside Services will be held in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen
