Melba Morris

Melba Faye (Jackson) Morris, 91, of Elgin, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

Melba was a loving wife and mother whose family was her greatest joy in life. She will be greatly missed by her family and many many friends.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents, John and Amanda Jackson, her brother A.O. Jackson; her son-in-law, Ken Freitag; her in-laws, Jim and Winnie Morris.

Melba leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 69 years, Dud Morris, three children; Beverly Simmons (David), Joe Morris (Sue), and Jackie Dodd (Mickey). 4 grandchildren; Philip Morris (Karen), Douglas Freitag (Bethann), Kayla Koester (Chris), Kadie Dodd (Darren). 6 great-grandchildren; Lettie Morris, Addy and Jackson Koester, Landon, Kaden and Mason Freitag and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, her little dog, Rufus.

Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, February 26, 2016 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Melba’s Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lawhon Springs Cemetery.
