Clara Lee Vincent Jefferson. a lifelong resident of Elgin Community was called to her heavenly home on Monday, February 15, 2016. Clara was born on February 7, 1941 to Dock Vincent and Frankie Humphries in Elgin, Bastrop County, Texas. She was their first born.

Growing up with a strong Christian foundation and Godly parents, Clara accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend A. T. Thomas. Clara remained with the church her
entire life, being a faithful member until her death. Clara attended the public schools of Bastrop County namely, Booker T. Washington.

On September 21, 1962, Clara was joined in Holy Matrimony to John L Jefferson, Jr. and this union was blessed with four children.

Clara spent her lifetime caring for her family. She was known by all that knew her as loving and fair to everyone.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Dock Gilbert Vincent and Narmon Vincent.

After seeing three generations, Clara’s loving memories will linger in the hearts of her beloved children: Victor Jefferson, Janice Deary, and Ricky Jefferson all of Elgin and Tammy Parks of Taylor; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, her siblings: Larry Vincent of Austin, Lonnie and her husband, Odis Fletcher of Round Rock,and Delores Vincent Smith of Elgin, three aunts: Jamie Vincent, Billie Joyce Vincent and Katherine Vincent all of Elgin as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her church family.

A viewing will be held 12:00-5:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Clara's Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016, Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Interment will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery.
