Frances Krieg of Elgin, Texas born May 17, 1925, went home to be with the Lord February 14, 2016 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Reuben Krieg, parents Fritz and Lena Prinz Henze, Brother Walter Henze and sister Lydia Eiben. She is survived by her son Glenn Krieg and wife Cindy, daughter Linda Rowland, son Dennis Krieg, grandchildren Kevin Krieg and wife Mona, Lisa Pottle and husband Mark, Jennifer Campos and husband Raphael, Justin Krieg, Crystal Krieg and friend Devin Williams, great-grandchildren, Kole Krieg, Jacob and Haley Pottle, Alyssa and Ayden Campos, Amanda and Zach Krieg and a special thanks to her loving care-giver Linda Garcia.
Frances graduated from Coupland High School. She married Reuben Krieg March 17, 1945. During a drought and with crops failing, she went to work at DPS where she retired after 23 years. Frances was an active member of St. Peter’s Church where she worshiped her entire life. She loved watching sports, especially the Astros, Rangers and Cowboys, playing 42 with her friends and dancing with the love of her life, Reuben. She was an agent for Hermann Sons Insurance and Officer of the Hermann Sons Lodge #113 in Coupland. She was affectionately known as “Bimmie”. A name given to her by her oldest grandchild, Kevin, who could not pronounce “Granny”!
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Providence –Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas. Celebration of Life Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 17, 2016, St. Peter’s Church in Coupland. Interment will follow in the St. Peter’s Cemetery
