Severo Sandoval Pena

Severo Sandoval Pena ascended to meet his Creator and be with the Angels on February 6, 2016.

Severo was born in Elgin, TX on August 23, 1934. After graduating High School he joined the U.S. Army where he was a career soldier and obtained the rank of Master Sergeant. He is a Vietnam Veteran, and a member of the 101st Airborne Division. Severo’s Service had him stationed in Alaska, Japan, Germany, and various other stateside postions. After he retired from the military he worked on the receiving end of the Strategic National Oil Reserve in the Texas Gulf. During his time in the Service he obtained his 3rd class private pilot’s license. Severo was a caring philanthropist, a loving family man and believed that hard work and dedication could achieve anything.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Alicia Ruiz Pena of Taylor, Texas. Two sons; Robert Orlando and Hector Randolph (Tina) Pena, Daughter Carmen Shannon (Todd) Branstner. Grandchildren Alyssa Lynn (Josh) Wayland, Christian Dante, Isla Mae, Siblings; Julia Jonse, Rebecca Gutierrez, Richard Pena. As well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2016, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Severo’s Life will be held 10:30 Am Friday, February 12, 2016, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment will Military Honors will follow in the Elgin Latin Cemetery
