Dean Schulz

Dean Ray Schulz (49) passed from this earth on Sunday, January 24, 2016 after an 18 months battle of cancer.

Dean was a lifelong resident of Elgin, TX and attended Elgin Schools and played football for the Elgin Wildcats proudly wearing #32. He also graduated from TSTI in Waco. Dean had a life-long career as a talented diesel mechanic.

Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Frieda Schulz and Gordon and Louise Carey, his best friend, Rodney Brown and cousins, Matt Carey and Don Schulz.

He is survived by his Daughter, Chelsea Rai Schulz and Fiancé, Henry Garza of Round Rock, TX. Parents, Charlie and Barbara Schulz of Elgin, Sister, Michele Hanson and husband Corey of San Marcos, and sister, Marsha “Red” Schulz of Elgin, nephews, Christian and Mason Hanson, and niece Sydney Hanson, Aunts; Dorothy Brade of Lincoln, Annie Schulz of Paige, Uncles; Wilbert Iselt of Paige, Herman Carey, and wife Shirley of Buda, Kenneth Carey and wife Jennifer of Stephenville. As well as, numerous relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 28, 2016 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Paint Creek Cemetery.
