E.C. Smith Jr.

E.C Smith Jr., age, 88, of Elgin, TX went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 17, 2016.

E.C was born May 28, 1927 in Crosby County, Texas to Egbert Charles Sr. and Gladys Bryant Smith. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and fought in World War II. After serving his country he farmed in west Texas for several years. In the 50’s he became a builder, traveling to Africa for 6 years where he built for the Nigerian Government. E.C. also owned a movie production company and was a worldwide entrepreneur for many years. He was a very Active Member of the Family Worship Center, where the fellowship hall bears his name. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of his life.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, his son Charles Michael Smith, sisters; Harvey Jean Smith, Wanda Townsend, Mary Anders and Catherine Thane, and Brother Bill Bob Smith.

E.C. is survived by his wife Patricia Parkhill Smith, Son J. Patrick Parkhill of Elgin TX., Daughters; Cynthia Peters of Little Rock, AR., Rebecca Matthews of Austin, TX., Vicky Fernald of Bar Harbor, ME., Kelley Kimbrell of Bouclair, TX., and Pamela Barnett of Elgin, TX. Sisters; Donna McGaughey of Bangs, TX., Audrey Creswell of Oklahoma City OK., Jackie Pendleton of Midlothian, TX., 15 grandchildren and 18 Great-great grandchildren

A Celebration of E.C.’s Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2016, Family Worship Center-Elgin TX.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Family Worship Center Building Fund.
