Barbara Jean Hollan (Whisenant) passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 4th 2015 in Elgin, TX at the age of 81.
Barbara is survived by her husband, James “Buddy” Hollan, daughter Carol Teller of Elgin, and sons Anthony Turner and James T. Hollan Jr. Five grandchildren Lisa Parker (Jason Parker), Sherri VanBuskirk (John VanBuskirk), Michael Teller (Amanda Hunt), Stephanie Turner, Julie Easterly, and seven great-grandchildren (Haley, Clayton, Taylor, Ashley, AJ, Aleutian, Alacia).
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Whisenant of Austin TX and great grandchild Garrett Owen Parker.
Barbara was born on August 10th 1934. She married Buddy, on March 26th 1965. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed listening to Elvis, collecting plants and angel figurines. She felt that she could not start her day without a cup of coffee and two cookies.
A memorial is scheduled at 6pm October 14th at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin TX, with a reception to follow at the First National Bank community room on Hwy 290 next to CVS. Jeff Mathis will officiate the ceremony.All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life.
