Freda Gwendoline Wilson passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 93. She was the only child of Winifred and Frederick Richards and was born on February 14, 1922 in England.
She met the love of her life Wallace Wilson, in England while he was stationed at a nearby airfield. After their marriage in England on December 26, 1944, she came to live in McDade, Texas where she was received with open arms by her new in-laws. Wallace and Freda then began their new family life. Her love overflowed to their expanding family as their family tree continued to grow.
Freda not only became a resident of McDade but soon became an active member of the First Baptist Church of McDade. She loved the Lord and showed His love to everyone she met. Who hasn’t had a hug and a kiss on the cheek from Freda????
She became a true Patriot by gaining her American Citizenship, of which she placed great value.
Freda is preceded in death by both her parents and her husband of 61 years.
She is survived by her two children, Fred Wilson of McDade, and Deborah Wilson Grimmer and husband Richard of Brenham. Grandchildren: Daphne Rivera, Brandon Wilson, Michael Grimmer and Russell Grimmer, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 6:00-8:00 P.M. Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home of Elgin. A Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 19 First Baptist Church McDade, Texas. Interment to Follow in the McDade Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to McDade Baptist Church building fund.
