Lloyd Warren Monson Sr.

Lloyd Warren Monson Sr. Age 79 of Elgin, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015.

Lloyd was born Feb 21, 1936 to Philip and Mildred (Larson) Monson in Brady, Texas. He graduated from Brady High School and served in the US Army. Lloyd was a farmer and rancher, who loved sitting on his porch watching the sunset on the Austin skyline and his cows. He was a very generous man, always offering to help his friends and even loaning his farming equipment for those in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Janet Sue Monson.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Virginia Monson, son, Lloyd “Bubba” Monson Jr., daughters, Carol Broach and Patricia Monson and one grandchild, Taylor Broach.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2015, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A celebration of Lloyd’s Life will be held 10:00 Am Wednesday, August 12, 2015, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Elgin Cemetery.
