David Rey Limas

David R. Limas went home to his Lord after a six month struggle with cancer on Thursday, July 9, 2015.

He was born on May 28, 1944 to parents Lupe Limas and Lupe R. Limas in San Antonio, Texas and grew up at the once Prewitt brickyard. He attended Elgin schools and graduated from Elgin High School in 1962. After a four year stint in the Air Force he lived in California where he married and then divorced in the mid-eighties. In the early nineties he moved to Austin.

David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Limas.
He is survived by two brothers, Ray Limas and Rudy Limas, both of Elgin, two sisters, Alice Cox (Donald) of Austin and Diane Villalobos (Ignacio) of Austin. Also surviving him are seventeen nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held 3:00 pm Monday, July 13, 2015, Providence- Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
